Rehana is a Clinical Research Assistant at the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress (CSTS). She graduated from Carleton College in June 2023 with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Cognitive Science. Her undergraduate senior thesis examined neuroplasticity of the visual cortex and the cortical impacts of visual deprivation. Also during her undergraduate studies, she worked as the teaching assistant for Carleton’s Learning & Memory laboratory, in which she helped students learn how to conduct research with pigeon subjects and assisted with the pigeons’ exercise and care. Previously, she worked for Carleton’s Gender & Sexuality Center, disseminating information such as mental health and wellness resources for LGBT+ students. Rehana hopes to learn research skills and pursue further education in psychology and cognitive neuroscience, aiming for a career researching the brain and its relationships with emotion, cognition, and society.
